What to do in a traffic accident?

A traffic accident can happen to anyone. You have the best guarantee for a quick and correct settlement if you complete the European Collision Form (EAF) correctly.

If you wish, you can always call on our expertise and we will be on site.

If no collision form has been filled in, but a PV has been drawn up by the police, please provide us:

  • the number of the report
  • a copy of your statement to the police
  • all supporting documents that prove your damage

Tip: Photos of the accident or damage can also be enlightening! Were you or one of the passengers injured? Give us a medical certificate!

Filling in the European collision form (ECF)

Thanks to the specific questions on the European collision form, insurers can quickly determine who is responsible for what.

Part 1: the front, which must be completed by both parties at the time of the accident.

Part 2: the back, which you must complete before you hand in the form to your insurer.

In the first part there are two separate sections (A and B, one for each driver), a central column where you put crosses accordantly and finally a box in which a sketch can be made of the accident.

What to do in case of fire insurance claim declaration?

A claim for your fire insurance can have various causes, such as fire, flood, storm ...

In the event of a claim for your fire insurance, inform us as soon as possible so that we can also come to the scene if necessary.

First of all provide us with the following information:

  • date of damage
  • cause
  • correct place (address, which building ...)
  • description of the damage
  • details of any third party involved
  • VAT certificate

Tip: keep the damaged goods for possible inspection until the claim has been settled! Possibly an expert can come by to estimate the damage on site.

What to do in the event of an accident with third parties?

In the event of a claim with 'third parties' in which your liability may be involved, it is important to provide us with all useful information.

  • What exactly happened?
  • Who suffered damage or what was damaged?
  • Where did it happen?
  • Who do you think is liable and why?
  • Are there witnesses?

Tip: Photos can often be very enlightening!

You can also complete the declaration form yourself as completely as possible and return it to us.

Important! Do not make a statement about liability towards the counterparty yourself. You may think you are wrong, but this is not the case. Always give society the opportunity to assess this. Finally, you also benefit from this.
